The Sous Chef assists in overseeing and directing all aspects of the operation of the kitchen, especially in the absence of head chef, including food purchasing; preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitations and cleanliness; coordinating activities with other head departments.
The Sous Chef reports directly to the Chef.
- Culinary arts degree
- Previous employment in a similar position
- Familiar with new gastronomic trends and different cuisine styles
- Creativity and imagination
- Capable of taking initiative and solving problems
