Deputy Supply Chain Manager

Profile
Deputy Supply Chain Manager will support Supply Chain Manager to manage company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations, in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity.
The Executive may also be tasked with managing some aspects of the supply chain on his/her own and there are prospects of promotion in a relatively short period of time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist to the development of the annual budget and appropriate supply chain strategy, to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost
- Plan, manage and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies, needed to meet the variety of product demand
- Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers, vendors, etc
- Negotiate contracts and oversee shipping methods
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, delivery time, and customer service
- Manage inventory levels to minimize production risk while maximizing inventory turns
- Monitor all aspects of the supply chain to ensure that goals are being met. Oversee product storage, handling and distribution
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
- Manage the team of the Supply Chain Department, managers, coordinators and specialists who are responsible for planning and executing supply chain activities
- Participate as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials
- Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety and implement subsequent changes to processes
- Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective
- Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain in order to meet sustainability targets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain/Logistics, or equivalent. Master’s degree is strongly desired
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management in an industrial company
- Excellent knowledge of English language. German or Italian will be considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- ERP & MRP systems experience required
- Strong ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers and logistics providers to secure the best terms and pricing
- Experience interfacing with internal and external business partners
- Solid judgment along with decision-making skills and superior leadership capabilities
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent planning skills and multitasking capabilities
- Ability to promote integrity and business ethics. Capable to ensure effective teamwork, collaborative behaviour and team spirit
