International Sales Manager

Position: International Sales Manager (Balkans-Black Sea- Middle East/North Africa)
Products: Corn hybrid seeds, Alfalfa seeds, vegetables seeds & seedlings
Seat: Athens or Thessaloniki
Main countries involved: ALB,NMD,SRB,ROM,BUL,MLD,UKR,RUS,EGY,MAR
Existent direct reports: 3 salesmen (ALB,NMD-SRB, BUL) & 3 technical
developers (BUL,MLD,EGY)

Accountabilities:

  • Propose ways to increase productivity and effectiveness of the sales in the Area
  • Drive profitable & sustainable market share growth by developing processes, tools and metrics, service-oriented initiatives, performance management and territory/account/visit planning.
  • Guide the development of individual Account Plans for the key distributors
  • Identify key development needs (agronomy, product knowledge, sales skills, and competencies) to focus on coaching and broader training efforts for all members of the sales team
  • Support with knowledge testing, assessment, tracking and reporting and prepare and implement development plans
  • Ensure collection, compliance, evaluation of data and information gathered from multiple source (market, customer, competition)

Critical knowledge:

  • Education: Bachelor / Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy
  • General agricultural knowledge
  • Trained and experienced in seed business
  • Min. 10 years of proven track record in Agriculture marketing, sales or sales management
  • Planning & project management capabilities
  • Leadership and team management capabilities, capability to select and evaluate people in seed sales
  • Understanding of competitive environment
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Driving License
  • Strong verbal and written English

Critical skills:

  • Build/maintain strong relationships with customers and sales network
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) – ability to communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management
  • Eager to learn and also committed in people development to coach, train sales team
  • Result orientated by taking initiatives, overcome on difficulties and creative in solutions
  • Adopt to changing business environment
  • Lead and motivate teams through continuous change
  • Frequent travelling abroad
