The role of the night manager

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for supervising all the Front Desk activities during the overnight shift. You will respond to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Avaton's policies, assuring the safety, security and wellbeing of our guests and employees. You will run daily and night audit reports, assist guests with check-in and check-out, reviewing arrivals and departures to plan accordingly, assuring all financial and credit procedures are followed.

Key components

• Oversee the smooth overall operation of the Hotel on the overnight shift and ensure the timely completion of the night audit.
• Close cash accounts, review payments through the bank and POS, close guest bills and tips.
• Focus on the guest experience by delivering excellent service and effective problem solving.
• Be key in driving revenue by way of our upselling program.
• Review and prepare for daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of our many VIPs, return guests and group business.
• Communicate and work closely with all departments of the Hotel on a daily basis.

Key attributes

• Proven experience, preferably within a hotel that delivers five star quality
• Passionate about engaging with guests, exceeding their expectations and managing their feedback
• Solid verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills - proficient in English, other languages
• Ability to work with Protel and other operating systems
