Operations Officer - Athens International Airport

An opportunity has arisen for an

Operations Officer

at Athens International Airport

Ground Operations involveall aspects of aircraft handling at airports as well as any aircraft ground movement. The candidate should be organized, work well under stress, be capable of prioritizing and willing to work on shifts.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and supervise all ground handling related services of private aircraft, according to customer’s needs and expectations and ensure all services are provided timely and at high standards
  • Dispatch computer flight plans for all flights
  • Ensure that copies of all flight plans made available to aircrew
  • Liaise with air traffic control at airport when necessary
  • Liaise with internal departments and customers as required on ongoing operational issues
  • Ensure all administration is carried out to the required standard and requirements
  • Anticipate and co-ordinate required changes to flight schedules and liaise with relevant departments
  • Monitor the flight schedule, maintain and update the flight schedule as required
  • Ensure all customer and internal reports are completed and distributed on time and in full
  • Maintain a weather and NOTAM watch appropriate to the operation and liaise with all relevant departments as required, in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Customer Service Representatives to ensure accurate information is forwarded to them and that they are fully supported whilst servicing an aircraft
  • Liaise with customers as required/directed on delays or significant events. Assist with customer enquiries or queries
  • Oversee facilities, coordinate and report as required
  • Work in accordance with company policies and company health and safety policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers

Role Requirements:

  • Strong written and oral skills in Greek (native speaker level required) and English (Proficiency certificate preferred). A third language will be considered an advantage
  • IT skills (preferably holder of an ECDL certificate)
  • Ability to communicate credibly across all levels of the organisation
  • Calm approach to problem solving, last minute changes and ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player spirit
  • Ability to plan and organize work flow and be flexible with work schedule
  • Driver’s license

Experience in a similar position of a minimum of 2 years, will be considered an advantage

40 hours per week. Salary and benefits will be discussed at the interview stage.
