SOS Children’s Villages Greece (SOS CV) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization operating a variety of social support programmes across the country. We support children through services in care, education, health, emergency relief, and advocate for the rights of children and young people.

Over the last years, SOS CV Greece has also been heavily involved in responding to the refugee crisis.

We operate in alliance with a great diversity of national and international partners and work together towards the common goal of providing high quality humanitarian aid.

In this regard, SOS CV Greece alongside relevant public authorities aim to design and implement a multi-level approach project that secures the access and provision of mental health support to children and youth being on the move, as well as adequate support to professionals that are in direct contact with the population.

To manage and assist us with several aspects of this important task, we are now looking for an experienced and committed Project Manager. He/She will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the full life cycle of the project (initiation, planning, execution and closure).

More specifically:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Defining project objectives, project scope, roles & responsibilities involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility. In doing so, collaboration with a supervisory board will be needed to ensure integrated programming/services delivery.
  • Defining resource requirements and managing resource availability & allocation – both internal and third party.
  • Outlining a budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver project appropriately.
  • Preparing a detailed project plan to schedule key project milestones & activities.
  • Managing delivery of the project according to this plan.
  • Tracking project and providing regular reports on project status to project team, key stakeholders and donors.
  • Managing and adjusting for any changes in project scope, schedule and / or budget.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Managing the relationship and communication with all stakeholders and donors, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Solid educational background,preferablyin the fields of Social Sciences combined with Business or Business Administration, or Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a project manager, preferably in related fields (eg mental health, emergency programmes)
  • High availability
  • Great leadership and delegation skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English (verbal and written)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Driving license

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with refugee populations, and a genuine interest towards the matter
  • Creative and enthusiastic, with advanced critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Sociable and approachable, with the ability to represent the values and ideals of SOS CV where necessary
