About CRS:

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was founded in 1943 by the US Catholic Conference of Bishops States to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas. CRS has been working in Greece since 2015 in response to the refugee and migrant crisis, working in partnership with the national and local diocesan Caritas organizations in Greece.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Project Officer_Data Management to conduct data management processes for a large project supporting refugees in Greece. You will practice efficient ways to organize, store and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality. In this position you will need to be able to support the visualization of comprehensive systems needed for data collection, storage, transferring, analyzing and reconciling.

Primary job responsibilities: Database management

  • Use and contribute to maintaining a data system containing confidential information on beneficiary demographics and eligibility for project support and monthly support provision
  • Ensure data quality
  • Contribute to reporting and provision of accurate and up to date information to project management team and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to provision of technical support to partner staff on use of database
  • Proactively identify and support troubleshooting for any problems that arise within database
  • Assist in developing digital data collection systems, where appropriate

Additional job responsibilities: Project Management:

  • Maintain regular and strong communication with all partners
  • Work closely with relevant team members to ensure systems are in place that will enable timely resolution of cases
  • Adhere to establish process standards and data management procedures
  • Coordinate with Caritas Athens Cash team to implement field activities. This will also include training of the staff to use ICT4D tools developed by CRS, as well as build capacity of the Caritas team to develop and implement ICT4D tools in their future activities
  • Work with CRS and Caritas teams in resolving cases referred to help-line and help-desks established by CRS
  • Analyze implementation challenges and report any inconsistencies and/or gaps to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules
  • Assist with preparation of trends analysis and reporting
  • Support preparation compile and file project documentation for assigned activities per agency and donor requirements

Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the field of Humanitarian programming / asylum seeker and Refugee support / Cash Programming and for an NGO would be a plus.
  • Additional education may substitute for some experience.
  • Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Personal skills:

  • Analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners
  • Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented
  • Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Staff supervision experience a plus.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Required Languages - Greek and English

Travel -None expected.
