Akazoo is growing its team of Music Content experts! If you are a successful Senior Content Business Affairs Manager you might be steps away from being a member of our Music Content team of experts and help us ensure the issuance, negotiation, execution and tracking of agreements by managing current and new Label Relations. The successful candidate will interact with all Major and Independent Music labels, Content Aggregators & Music Publishers across the globe.

A strong background and knowledge in contract negotiations with Major Labels and Music Publishers is mandatory. The position will report to the Content Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Request, Negotiate, Draft, Review and Administer Various Agreements in Capacity of Licensee and Licensor on Behalf of Akazoo Group
  • Draft, review, redline and negotiate Master Content Licensing Agreements, Publishing Agreements, Radio Broadcasting, UGC Agreements, Artists Agreements, Venue Agreements, Artwork Agreements, Festival Agreements and any all other required agreements
  • Review of all agreements and maintenance of the agreements database and providing reports as requested
  • Create, maintain, and internally distribute a variety of status reports, including but not limited to bi-weekly BA status reports
  • Act as a legal support for Akazoo Group Content matters (i.e. copyright infringement claims)
  • Advise senior executives and other stakeholders regarding all business and legal affairs matters and account status
  • Manage on going contractual relationships and handling all business affairs matter for the Content team
  • Manage all Label Relations and report a biweekly status to the Content Director
  • Royalty account research to verify payee information and confirm various royalty obligations, including but not limited to Artists, Labels, Publishers and third-party royalties
  • Research new trends, laws and changes in the existing music industry and advise senior executives of such changes
  • Negotiation facilitation

Requirements:

  • Law Degree required
  • Excellent knowledge of International and domestic Copyright Laws in all regions
  • Excellent drafting/writing and communication skills
  • Licensing experience within the Music Industry
  • 5 + years’ experience in the Music Industry
  • Strong management skills
  • Strong organization skills with high attention to detail
