Byblos is the new talk-of-the-town restaurant, blossoming in a wonderful garden of Mykonos Chora. In search for a motivated and experienced Sommelier to join our Restaurant team.
Basic knowledge requirements & skills:
- Advanced WSPC Certificate, CMS qualification or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in a similar role within a fine dining restaurant, hotel or similar type of establishment
- Excellent interpersonal and up-selling skills
- Ability to operate in a diverse and luxury environment with a focus on guest experience
- Good communications and organisational skills
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, a second or third language will be considered a plus
- Team working spirit
- Issues, opens, and serves wine/champagne bottles.
- Ensure that you have in depth knowledge and understanding of the wine list, food menus and service standard
- Ensure that mis-en-place is prepared for each service and maintain wine-serving equipment n the highest standard
- Answers guest questions or concerns regarding the origin, vintage, and style of various wines.
- Pairs and suggests wines that will best complement menu items.
- Trains and educates server and bartender staff
